Student: “What’s your real name?
Me: “Ms. Robison, that is my name.”
Student: “No, like your REAL name, your other name.” (emphasized)
Me: “Well, Ms. Hayden I guess.” (although these students have never known me as Ms. Hayden)
Student: “Ok, that’s your real name then.”
I don’t know where or how this came up, but I think maybe they were meaning to ask me my first name. After this conversation, life in the classroom went on as usual, and they have not referred to me as Ms. Hayden…yet. I just wonder, what they do with this information?
