Cockroach!!!

About a month ago, 10 minutes before school got out, a student said, "Look Ms. Robison, it's a cockroach on the wall."  We all looked up and were shocked.  I told the kids to pack up, no filling out agendas today, and we would just hang out outside for the last 10 minutes of school.  At that time, the cockroach (probably about 2 inches long) fell off the wall!  We all screamed and ran out of the room.  After the bell rang, one kid needed to go back into the classroom to put his glasses in his desk.  He informed me that the cockroach was now on the floor by his desk.  I found a teacher that uses an electric scooter sometimes and she said she would run over it for me!  As we went back into the classroom, the cockroach was running around.  I think he sensed that his life was doomed.  He ran underneath a table.  As I was moving the table, the teacher ran over it and all was good.  The teacher left me and another teacher to pick up the dead thing...when I leaned over the just cover it with a paper towel (because I am a girly girl and couldn't actually pick it up), it RAN away from me!  I couldn't believe the dang thing played dead!!!!!!!  The other teacher and I screamed at the top of our lungs and were running around.  Finally we found a can of Raid and chased this thing until it lost it's life to the poison!  My job description now consists of pest control duties...haha!  Who would have thought...

Since that day, we have found 3 more cockroaches in our classroom.  Luckily for me, these were all already dead.  The death toll is rising...
